Courses for Teachers

Free registration offer

Receive a free registration for every fifth person from the same school or organization who registers for the Great Books core sequence of professional development. Participants must register 21 days or more in advance to take advantage of this offer. To use this coupon, put the course of your choice in your cart, increase the quantity to 5 (or more) and click on Update. During checkout, use the coupon code PDAUG on the Payment Information screen to subtract the price of one registration ($250) from your order total. In the Special Instructions box, include the name, mailing address and e-mail address of each registrant.

Getting Started: 100-level courses explain what Shared Inquiry™ is, how to prepare for and lead Shared Inquiry discussion, and how to conduct Great Books supporting activities. Teachers attending Great Books core courses receive bound course book materials, a professional development binder (after Course 102), and access to members only Great Books teacher resources and special offers.

Getting Better: Strengthening Shared Inquiry: 200-level courses are half-day courses that help leaders strengthen their use of Shared Inquiry. They focus on Shared Inquiry and reading comprehension strategies, writing, or developing student questioning.

Going for Great: Developing Expertise: 300-level courses are half-day courses designed to develop expertise in particular uses of Shared Inquiry in the curriculum. They explore using Shared Inquiry with poetry, novels, drama, and other texts.

If there are no courses in your area, you are invited to host a Great Books course for teachers in your school. To learn more about this option, contact the sales representative for your state.
