Her Own Accord: Who We Are and Who We Desire to Be
May 5–7, 2017
Great Books Chicago 2017—a weekend of discussions and cultural outings for Great Books enthusiasts —will take place starting on noon Friday, May 5 and will run through 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2017. The price does not include hotel or travel.
The $400 registration fee includes:
- One copy each of the Great Books Foundation’s new anthology Her Own Accord: American Women on Identity, Culture, and Community and Willa Cather’s most famous novel, My Àntonia. (The books will be shipped approximately one week after you register.)
- Participation in 3 discussions, one each day, led by Great Books Foundation staff. Discussions will be held at the DePaul University conference center located at 1 E. Jackson Blvd, 8th floor. Reading selections from Her Own Accord to be determined.
- Friday evening reception with drinks and dinner buffet at Pinstripes Chicago
- Ticket to a Chicago Shakespeare Theater production of Shakespeare in Love at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6.

Registration is limited to 60 participants, so we encourage early registration. Your registration fee does not include hotel accommodations.
If you need to cancel your registration, please do so before 5 p.m. on March 24, 2017, and we’ll refund $300 of your registration fee. Cancellations after that time/date are not eligible for refunds.
