The Great Books Foundation warehouse is checking inventory this week. Orders placed between June 29 and July 4 will be processed and shipped via UPS Ground on July 5. Thank you for your business.

Currency

All prices listed in the store are in U.S. dollars.

Order Processing

Orders are processed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Central Time. Orders placed during the evenings, weekends, and holidays will be processed the next business day.

Discounts

Be sure to take advantage of our volume discount. We willl be happy to prepare an estimate for you. Contact the sales representative for your state, or call us at 800-222-5870.

Returns

Authorization to return materials for credit must be secured from our customer service department. Materials to be returned must be unopened and in resalable condition. Book returns are subject to a $.50 restocking fee per book. Please write to customer_service@greatbooks.org or call us at 800-222-5870. Individuals must return books within 30 days of receipt. Schools and bookstores must return books within 90 days of receipt.

Changes

Changes to existing orders, including delivery or billing address changes, are subject to a $5.00 fee.

Payment

Orders placed by individuals or organizations must be prepaid. VISA, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover credit cards are accepted and all credit card transactions are secured by SSL secure software.

If paying by purchase order, please include the name of the organization issuing the purchase order and the purchase order number. Fax the purchase order to the Customer Service department at (312) 407-0224. The order will be processed upon receipt. You need not enter the order online. To take advantage of a special offer when paying by purchase order, include the coupon code on the cover sheet.

Terms

Net 30 days from date of invoice. No C.O.D.s.

Sales Tax

The law requires the Great Books Foundation to collect sales tax in Arizona, California, Colorado, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington. Individuals cannot claim tax-exempt status. Only nonprofit organizations with a tax-exempt ID number can claim tax-exempt status.

The sales tax stated during checkout is an estimate. The exact tax will be charged during final processing based on the applicable city, county and state tax rates.

Note: Schools in Arizona, California, North Carolina, and Washington are not tax-exempt and are therefore subject to sales tax.

The steps for placing an order from a tax-exempt organization are as follows:

  • Enter the organization's name on the company line of the account and the tax-exempt ID number in the appropriate box.
  • Fax the organization's tax-exempt letter to customer service at (312) 407-0224. Include the order number on the fax cover sheet.
  • Your order will be held until the Foundation receives the tax-exempt letter. When the letter is received sales tax will be removed from the order total and subsequent orders from the organization will be processed as tax-exempt.

Shipping and Handling

UPS Ground: Flat fee of $4.50 for orders up to $56.25. Orders of $56.26 or more, 8% of the total.
UPS 2 Day Air: Flat fee of $8.00, plus $2.00 per ordered item.
UPS Overnight: Flat fee of $15, plus $4.00 per ordered item.

Please allow three weeks for delivery of orders shipped UPS Ground. UPS requires a street address for delivery; no P.O. Box numbers, please. Shipping and handling charges noted here apply to orders within the United States.

There will be additional shipping charges for international orders. You may e-mail customer service at customer.service@greatbooks.org or call 800-222-5870 in the United Sates and Canada or (312) 332-5870 elsewhere to confirm shipping charges.

UPS 2nd Day and Overnight orders placed by 12:00 p.m. CDT will be processed the same business day. Rush orders placed after 12:00 p.m. CDT will be processed the next business day.

UPS 2nd Day and Overnight shipping are not available for international orders. All orders to APO or FPO addresses are sent via U.S. Postal Service First Class at the standard shipping charge.

Junior Great Books Classroom Publishing

Refunds: Classroom Publishing book purchases are nonrefundable.

Payment: Classroom Publishing books must be paid in full prior to printing.

Shipping: Classroom Publishing books will be shipped UPS Ground at a rate of 8% of the order amount.
